Certification Board
The PAI Certification Board is an independent board that oversees the integrity of the PAI certification processes. It confirms the appointments of scheme managers, changes in protocols and procedures, the issue of certificates, and the handling of complaints and appeals.
The PAI Certification Board comprises members from all interests in the food chain.
It is chaired by Professor Bronek Wedzicha, Professor of Food Science at Leeds University.
Other members include: Linda Campbell OBE, Dr Richard Sumner (Certification Matters), Tony Gillam (Accreditation Matters), Bill Skivington (Retail), Pat Cullan (Farming Industry), Mark Ryland (Transport).
Quality Policy Statement
The objective of PAI is to provide a Product Inspection, System Assessment and Certification service in a fair and impartial manner, conforming to the contractual requirements agreed with our Suppliers and to the criteria laid down by Accreditation Authorities and the EAC as shown in ISO/IEC 17020, IS0/IEC 17021, and EN 45011.
All Clients shall have access to the services of PAI. There shall be no undue financial or other conditions placed on Clients and the schemes shall be operated in a non-discriminatory manner.
PAI understands the importance of impartiality in carrying out its activities. PAI manages conflict of interest and ensures the objectivity of its activities.
At all stages of its dealing with clients PAI strives to be regarded by its Clients as fair, efficient approachable and professional. These principles are supported in PAI staff recruitment, training and evaluation procedures.
Complaints procedure
If there are any complaints about PAI or its certified clients, these must be directed in writing to the General Manager, PAI Ltd, The Inspire, Hornbeam Park, HARROGATE, HG2 8PA. All complaints are dealt with in accordance with a documented procedure which is overseen by an independent body, thus ensuring the integrity and impartiality of the complaints handling process.
