Company History
Product Authentication International (PAI) is an independent, private UK company. PAI was formed in 1996 by the current executive directors from an existing ISO 9000 certification company to meet a new need highlighted by BSE and new European legislation on Food Safety. It is one of the leading accredited Food Product Certifiers in Europe. PAI is staffed by Certification and Agri-Food professionals.
Since 1996 it has developed rapidly to be a leading authority on matters of Agri-Food Safety, Security, Traceability and Certification. It operates from two offices in the UK. It also has partnerships in South America, China and Greece.
PAI is accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) to certify feed, food, and farm products.
PAI provides:
- A Product Authentication service that meets the legal requirements of EU Legislation.
- A highly competent verification service to the designers and owners of trade schemes within the food chain including Farm Assurance schemes.
- An independent, authoritative and high-integrity verification of product claims
- To manufacturers and producers a certification and authentication service that helps prevent 'passing off' and forgery of products.
- An independent Food Safety Inspection Service for Factories, Hotels and Retail premises.
